Community College Month

In April 2023, I revamped San Jacinto College’s social media campaign for Community College Month. My contributions included photography (employee portraits only), writing, design, and interviewing employees for direct quotes.
My new approach was to better reflect the college's values, engage both internal and external audiences, and combat negative community college stereotypes while highlighting the college's contributions to student success and community development.
Through a strategic mix of employee spotlights and themed content, the campaign aimed to spark conversation and highlight the institution's commitment to excellence.
The campaign's success surpassed expectations, with metrics exceeding all set objectives. Beyond quantitative metrics, the campaign fostered substantial dialogue, evidenced by positive feedback from participants and genuine interactions in the comments.
San Jacinto College won a 2024 Silver Excalibur Award from the Public Relations Society of America (Houston Chapter) for this campaign. The campaign was also a finalist for a 2024 Crystal Award from the American Marketing Association (Houston Chapter).

“Name Our Raven” Video Series
2023 • Instagram Reels
I produced this video series for San Jacinto College. My contributions included initial ideation, direction, videography, and editing in Premiere Pro and After Effects. Our social media intern helped execute this project and starred in the videos.
San Jacinto College won a 2023 Silver Medallion Award from the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (District 4) for this series.
Published during the San Jac Raven’s naming phase of the mascot selection process, these humorous short-form videos feature a student finding mysterious “raven” feathers in absurd places on campus, hinting at the new mascot’s imminent arrival.
The three videos in the series are intentionally informal — we wanted them to look and feel like user-generated content.
The main objective of this series was to encourage our students to vote on a name for our mascot in a creative way instead of just using a flyer. We wanted to grab their attention, get them to engage, raise their school spirit, and build up hype for the mascot’s big reveal.
Campus Connection

The Campus Connection series was a biweekly carousel post that highlighted upcoming events on campus at San Jacinto College. I created Campus Connection in an effort to reduce the number of flyers we were required to post on a regular basis, which was desirable for several reasons. This long-term project involved a lot of trial and error, but I eventually found success. Read more about the entire process in the slideshow below.
